Happy Anniversary Dave!

Yeah! 11 Years!! Happy Anniversary Babe! Pretty sad, but these are the only 2 pictures I have of us together on my computer. Everything else has other people in it. I need to find some of our wedding and scan them in and post them.
I thought this one was appropriate! It was taken in 2004, up in Alaska. My mom kept our wedding cake top and finally on that trip got it out of the freezer and told us to eat it or get rid of it! So we had Dave's parents take a couple of pictures of us being goofy with the cake and then threw it in the dumpster. You can't even tell what the cake looks like anymore (I am holding the cake in foil)! It really was a pretty cake.

Earlier that same year, my family all went to Hawaii for my parents 30th anniversary. My mom bought this lava-lava at the International market for the guys to wear for pictures. Dave wasn't that trilled! It was a fun trip. I want to go back to that house on that beach and stay another 2 weeks. All the girls had the flowers for our ears for Mother's Day (that would explain the bouquet on my ear). We had them made at the International market too.
Wow, 11 years! 2 great kids, a beautiful house, I get to stay home with them and not depend on daycare to raise them.
Thanks Dave, I love you!

Pathetic Pooch

Oh Roxy, what have you done? Don't ask, because I can't tell you what happened! I wasn't going to post this picture because I really can't tell you how it happened. A couple of weeks ago she came into the kitchen where Dave and I were on three legs yelping and holding the one up. Finally, she started to limp on it. Then the next day the bones were shifted and they were broken! So we had to take her to an animal ER because it was the weekend (not so cheap!) and have x-rays and all that and a splint put on it. So a couple of days later she had chewed off the end of that splint because it was way too tight and her paw was swelling from it and the vets office that we had planned on taking her to told us that we had to take her back to where the splint was put on have them re-wrap it. WRONG! We had to pay for another ER visit. They put this cone on her head to prevent chewing! She looks pathetic and holds completely still while it's on!

So this weekend, she got really really sick. We thought she wasn't going to make it! But she did. The doctor wasn't sure if it was some kind of stomach/intestinal infection or pneumonia (not parvo). He also paid alot of attention to known health problems with boxers and she tested great with those! But we didn't want to pay more x-ray and blood testing costs, so we had him go with his gut feeling on which antibiotic to put her on and she is doing much better tonight!

It will be a miracle if this dog makes it a year! Dave and I have the worst luck with dogs. Roxy will be our last (At least she lasted longer than Magnus, 24 hours. Coyotes got to him in the middle of the night when we lived in Prescott, AZ). Sorry Kiddo.

Finally, not stuck in the middle any longer...

I have never liked that blogs are right down the center of the page, so finally mine isn't. Now I just have to figure out how to make my background paper softer, so it isn't so crazy on the eyes. I like the stripes, I just need Holly to help me put a velum look over it! Can you help me out Holly? I tried our program, but you know it better than I! Ahhh....

Thanks Amanda & Trachelle

This is for Amanda and Trachelle to see the color of my hair. They helped my by email and phone to mix the developer and right color and teach me how to apply permanent hair color by myself! Well, almost by myself. Dave helped me. Can you imagine Dave in the bathroom helping color my hair! He made sure I was getting all the hair in the back and that I didn't create a new hairline in the back and around my ears. He was my support system. It is always more fun when someone is with you to laugh at you!

When Wes got home from school today, his poor finger was totally smashed in the car door of his carpool. The door latched and everything. It looked gross. One part of his knuckle was pointing in one direction and the other part of his finger was flattened and then pointing the opposite direction. It made my stomach turn. Dave was at the gym, so I called there to have him paged to come home, so he could assess it (went to EMT school!) and tell me if we needed x-rays. He didn't think it was broken. I thought for sure it was by the way is was so jagged looking. After a bit of ibuprofen and lots of ice, the swelling went down and he wanted to rest it on his Gogurt. So that is what you are looking at in the picture and why Wes looks like he was just crying.

My Oh My, Laundry was Piled High

This month has been so crazy, I can't believe it is almost over. Valentine's Day is finally over and things were going to slow down enough that my mountain, yes mountain, of laundry was going to be folded, until I came down with strep throat! Strep, I haven't had that for nearly 11 years. Since Dave and I first got married. So the pour laundry had to wait another few days until I could get off the couch in the other room!
I enlisted Wes's help for this major task. He had tons of fun. We separated it into 4 piles, for each of us to make things easier. He found all of his "chonies" and put them on his head. It made his head shaped so long and forced his eyebrows down, it looked so strange. We were laughing so hard, I had to get the camera out and start taking pictures of him.

The kids were playing "Where's Waldo" in all of the laundry. Since Wes was a police officer, you could spot him right off, but Brooke blended in pretty well with her onsie on. She would run and fall face first onto the piles without any support with her hands to catch her. She was laughing so hard.

I had to finally give in, YES, the "chonies" are clean. She insisted on having her picture taken with them on her head too! It only took Wes about an hour to fold his clothes. Not too bad for his first time folding. When we were finished, we went to Grandma Kay's to play the Wii. Wes loves the Bowling on it. He scored 182 that day. Blew me out of the water! I didn't ever come close.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Brooke and I went to help at Wes's Valentine party in his class. My "station" was helping to make these bags for their valentines to go in. This is my friend Jill (another mom) helping too. Wes likes her daughter, Savanah. She is really cute. You can see the finished bags sitting on the counter in the next picture.
Brooke followed Wes around doing the different stations. Here they are decorating heart shaped cookies.

Wes was proud of his cookie. He wouldn't leave me alone until I took a picture "for your blog mom".

This station was fun. They had to use chop sticks to pick out their candy hearts to eat and then they had to chart them. They were doing math at the same time!

Here is Brooke's cookie. She would eat the candy and then put more on the cookie and then eat it off and put more on!

After school we drove through McDonald's and then went up to see Grandma Ione, who is down visiting Uncle John. How do you like Brooke's chicken teeth? Silly girl...Wes and Grandma match today, black and tan!

Brooke found all of Aunt Geneal's dress up necklace's in the closet and put on every one of them to show Grandma. Then she had to have Grandma take her picture. She gave Grandma so many kisses and poses for pictures. It was really cute.

An Important Trip to Temple Square

I decided to take my children to see who had been our Prophet for the past 13 years, viewing at the Conference Center at Temple Square. It was a very spiritual experience for all of us. One we will never forget and will hold close to our hearts forever. It took us 3 hours from the time we got there until it was our turn to personally thank President Hinkley.
When we left Temple Square, this is what the east side of the Conference Center looked like! This picture doesn't quite do it justice. This line took 5 hours get through!

We had to stop and take a self portrait by where Dave and I were married! Wes thought this temple was cool. We all look tired and emotionally drained, there were quite afew tears by us all, even Brooke, although hers were of a different story.
