7 Peaks

Another year of 7 Peaks season passes...
To start this day off right, little miss Seaka helped me make buttermilk pancakes (the very best recipe ever-I will post on the side of my blog). She stirred everything. Wes was completely jealous that she took his place in the kitchen with the pancake making. This has always been his job. Oops.

Today we went with a lot of our friends. It was one of the boys birthdays, he turned 10. What a fun party. (I am trying really hard not to use the !!! for Andrew!!!) Wes has no fear this year and wants to go down every ride, only problem is I have to watch Brooke and can't do it with him. He is always looking for someone to go with-any takers?

The kids have so much fun bouncing on the tubes while we are taking a break. Look at the one boy in the back, he is getting air on that one.

So after 7 Peaks today, we had to rush home with only 45 minutes to spare, Wes and I hurried to shower, get dressed, and rush off to his Tball game. Brooke on the other hand crashed on the couch and slept for that time. We got back home and watched Dave mow the lawn and then we had a very, very nutritious and delicious dinner, one I think Pam's kids would have approved of. Or wait, maybe they would have preferred scrambled eggs. Anyway, we had cold cereal.

Look at this poor girl. She needs her "bath tub tub" so bad. She still has sun block in her hair, smells like the pool, sweaty, and now milk dripping from her face and neck added to it all.

The rest of the week is going to be in the high 90's...YUCK.

A Day with Dad, Shopping with Mom

Dave's old boss asked if he could drive to St George last Thursday, so he took Wes with him. Wes was so excited! The kids had to get up earlier than normal (7:45 am instead of 9 am) to get to the truck on time. Dave decided to let Wes polish off the milk. I NEVER let the kids drink out of the container. It is disgusting. But Wes looked so silly doing it, I had to take his picture just for the blog.

Then Brooke had to have a turn...

We made it! The anticipation was about to stress out Wes. This picture was funny. Brooke fixed her hair and then the wind came and messed it all up. Look at her little smile under it all.

And here's her dance again. Always dancing. Her hands crack me up. Wait, there is another glimpse of Dave on this one. In his element, as a professional driver.

The kids liked being on the flat bed. Wes and Dave went to St George to pick up 2 huge concrete blocks. Wes learned to trucker wave and played on the CB. He loves being in the truck. This time there wasn't a bed to lay in.

Brooke and I went to lunch at Winger's and then went shopping at the mall. We had so much fun. She had her purse and sun glasses that she wore the entire time. I think she felt like such a grown up.

When we got home, this is what I found. She was out. Completely asleep. She didn't wake up for anything.

The next day the boys went back to St George and Brooke and I went to Wally-World (Wal-Mart) and stopped for lunch while there too. She is my silly girl. She was talking to the little old couple next to us and being goofy. I think she was feeling like a grown up with me. I had a blast!

So this is what happens when...

I leave Becky with the kids and I run into the store (we had already taken the kids into a store and McDonald's=CRANKY). She gets the camera out and starts taking pictures of all the kids. There were many more, but I thought it would be more fun to post one of them that had her in the picture! We spent Saturday going to Orson Gygi and getting a cake mold for Brooke's long over due birthday cake. Yes, it is only 6 months overdue. Her princess cake disaster is now in the mix again, this time with a real mold, not just a glass mixing bowl and barbie. Lame mom, I know, but I figured she is only 2 and wouldn't remember that 6 months have gone by and she will be excited to have us sing to her again and blow out candles again. So now I just have to decide between Cinderella and Belle. I also nix'd the barbie and went for the real doll pick, barbies hips are a bit too wide and break the cake every time. Just a bit of advice for future princess cake makers out there!

As Rare as Lochness-A Picture of Dave

Here we have it folks, a picture of Dave. He doesn't know I took it yet, or that it is on here. But I had to do it, right?

He's a real hands on assistant coach for Wes' tball team, can't-cha tell.

Wes and his friends; Karson, and Nathan.

Brooke has to dance, ALL THE TIME. She walks all around twisting her hips and feet or her hands, like this. She is in her own world! I love it.

Happy Father's Day Dave!

We had a fun day Saturday, first we went to the Art City Days parade, which our friends, the Barson's, drove their cool car in. Wes always loves to go on rides in this car, or just sit in it whenever he gets the chance. So after the parade, Wes, Brooke and I got to go for a drive in it. I don't remember what the name of the car is, but he built it like 15 years ago from a kit as a hobby.

Pretty fun car, huh!

Later on we decided to celebrate Father's Day tonight because Dave has been working a ton and we weren't sure if we'd see him on Sunday.

So we made him a nice dinner. Brooke stood there almost the whole time watching and asking questions. Wes helped with the chicken marinade. It was fun.

These are all the basic foods we have eaten before right? So what was so special about tonight? They were all kicked up a notch. And they were delicious!! The chicken is a peach bbq marinade (with a slight kick), the mashed potatoes were creamy and rich and then you add adobo sauce to give it a punch, and then the sweet corn had sauteed red peppers and onion, corn, and then at the end butter and honey (that's what is running on the plate). Hmm, Hmm good!

Dave got his presents at dinner, hopefully they were all ok! What a great dad, I love when he plays with the kids, they are giggling like crazy, which makes me laugh too. He works hard for us, and I appreciate it.

I just hope the big breakfast is as good as dinner! Send him off to fight the world on a full tummy. Or it will put him to sleep somewhere!!

We love you!

(Happy Father's Day to Papa Wes and Ahpapa! -Brooke can't say "Grandpa")

T-Ball

Wes had his first tee ball game last night. Don't ask who won, they don't keep track, everyone wins in tee ball! Each team gets a turn at bat, all kids hit and then they trade and the other team gets a turn at bat until all kids have had a turn. They do this for an hour and then it's game over. This is Wes and his friend Nathan, he lives in our neighborhood and was in Wes's class at school. He loves sports, only wears blue, and someday will be the mascot for BYU I am sure!

I am not sure the tee thing will stretch tall enough for Wes with out coming apart! Wes kept asking the coach if he was the tallest on the team. Like he needed to be sure nobody would take that away from him! Like the cut offs? It is his first pair that I have made for him. I tried to get him to wear his other shorts, but he insisted on these. Sad...now run boy run!

Yes, he made it without getting out! Way to go Wes!!!

For some reason Wes's team thought it was tackle tee ball. Every time the ball was hit, they would all tackle each other! I am sure the other, older, more wise team, who were all retired first graders, thought that this team of immature wanna-be first graders were so foolish. They didn't understand that you stand behind the fake pitcher, and try to catch the ball to throw to first baseman or where ever the runner is going. Instead it was a combination football/tee ball. But the parents all got a good laugh out of it!

Wes had a great time and that is all that matters. Oh, and Dave is the assistant coach (because his friend is the coach)!
